Duties
- Operate flatbed trucks equipped for hauling freight, following all FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Safely load, secure, and unload freight using manual handling techniques, ensuring cargo integrity during transit.
- Navigate routes using GPS navigation systems to optimize delivery times and maintain accurate delivery schedules.
- Transport various types of freight.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify truck safety, including checking for compliance.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently while maintaining proper truck loading and unloading procedures for logistics cargo handling.
- Maintain detailed logs of driving hours, delivery records, and compliance documentation in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
Skills
- 18 months proven experience in commercial truck driving utilizing a flatbed trailer.
- Knowledge of route driving across long distances with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Ability to operate automatic transmission trucks confidently and handle manual loading/unloading tasks.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and vehicle safety standards.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
- Ability to handle logistics cargo handling tasks accurately under tight schedules while maintaining safety protocols.
