You’ll be the operational backbone of our People Team, ensuring the HR experience is consistent, compliant, and rooted in our values. This role owns critical programs in payroll, benefits, onboarding, compliance, and safety — fostering a consistent, values-aligned employee experience. As the most senior HR practitioner without direct reports (yet),, this individual plays a central role in aligning day-to-day operations with Birgo’s mission and growth goals, while acting as a trusted resource to managers and employees alike.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role ideal for someone who loves building processes that scale while keeping the human element front and center.
💼 What You’ll Do
🌟 People Operations & Experience
Partner with managers to navigate employee relations with clarity and care
Lead onboarding logistics, orientation, and 90-day check-ins
Conduct exit interviews and track insights for improvement
Help drive a consistent, values-aligned employee experience
💰 Payroll, Benefits, and Compliance
Own the weekly payroll process and 401(k) remittance
Manage health benefits and open enrollment in collaboration with brokers
Maintain clean, compliant records across HRIS and vendor systems
Support compliance reporting and employment law adherence across multiple states
🚀 Talent & Development
Partner on hiring and recruiting processes across departments
Collaborate on training rollouts and track adoption
Help foster a culture of safety and continuous learning
Support Birgo’s Safety Culture, including PPE and training logistics
🧠 What You Bring
5 years of HR generalist experience, including employee relations
Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll and benefits administration
Comfort working across functions (People, Finance, Operations, Vendors)
High attention to detail, systems-oriented mindset, and process ownership
A servant-hearted approach: you believe HR is about service, clarity, and care
Experience with Google Workspace; SHRM certification is a plus
