POSITION OVERVIEW
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in monitoring and analysing current inventory levels and place purchase orders as needed.
- Provide availability or respective products to internal customers that meet their needs.
- Assist in request for quotes, including preparation and analysis, evaluation, and implementation.
- Maintain respective procurement information with the ERP System to meet internal customers’ needs and departmental objectives.
- Action procurement reports to insure on-time delivery and expediting when necessary.
- Ensure the most cost-effective methods of acquiring goods.
- Seek new suppliers based on best price, quality, availability, and reliability.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Other duties as assigned by your supply chain manager.
- Some travel may be required from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES
ESSENTIAL
1-2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
Collaborative - Successful history of building relationships, evidence of being a well-respected, trusted partner, and someone others want to work with
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to identify new processes and procedures for continual improvement
Minimum 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment.
Trustworthy – Passionate dedication and ethical approach to all stakeholders
Intermediate level of skill and knowledge of Procurement Principles
Self-motivated - Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft office software particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision is a plus
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Working conditions are normal for a Manufacturing environment where exposure to dust, fumes and airborne particles, temperature extremes and elevated noise level.
- Employees must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and or move more than 50 pounds.
- While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, talk and hear.
RELATIONSHIPS
Birdon’s senior management team, including Divisional Managers, may provide additional direction and duties from time to time.
Clear communication and interpersonal skills are necessary as direct contact with Birdon clients, prospective clients, and production team is an important aspect of this position. It is your responsibility to ensure that the Company’s values and interests are maintained during all internal and external communications.
