Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, and assembling ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques.
- Support the culinary team in following recipes accurately to ensure consistent meal quality.
- Operate basic kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, mixers, and food processors.
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly in accordance with food safety standards.
- Help with meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods.
- Follow food handling procedures diligently to uphold food safety management protocols.
- Support catering events by preparing ingredients and assisting with large-scale meal preparation as needed.
Skills
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable.
- Strong background in food service or restaurant environments with knowledge of food industry standards.
- Familiarity with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation processes.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with kitchen staff and team members.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments to prevent accidents and ensure safe food handling practices.
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Ability to perform cleaning duties thoroughly while maintaining high hygiene standards.
- Culinary experience including knife skills, slicing techniques, and cooking methods is preferred.
- Catering experience or experience working in fast-paced food service settings is a plus.
