Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
- Implement treatment plans and therapy activities developed by the supervising SLP.
- Support students with articulation, language, fluency, voice, and social communication goals.
- Assist with documenting student progress and maintaining accurate service records.
- Collect and report therapy data to the supervising SLP.
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success.
- Assist in preparing therapy materials and adapting activities to meet individual student needs.
- Participate in team meetings, trainings, and other school-related activities as appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with school, district, state, and federal regulations.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assisting or a related field required.
- Active North Carolina SLPA license/certification required (or eligibility to obtain).
- Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Passion for supporting students with diverse communication needs.
- School-based setting serving students with a variety of communication disorders and developmental needs.
- Collaborative environment with support from Speech-Language Pathologists, special education staff, teachers, and administrators.
