Essential Duties
- Provide occupational therapy services to eligible students in accordance with IEPs
- Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations and contribute to eligibility determinations
- Develop, implement, and monitor occupational therapy goals and treatment plans
- Document student progress and maintain accurate service and compliance records
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers
- Consult with school staff regarding classroom accommodations and strategies
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and skills
- Ensure therapy environments are safe, organized, and conducive to learning
- Assume responsibility for therapy materials, equipment, and documentation
- Comply with all federal, state, and district regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned by school administration and special education leadership
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Virginia Occupational Therapy License
- NBCOT certification
- School-based experience preferred, but not required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community
