Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Dental Insurance Verification Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for a rotation of front desk duties and verifying patient insurance coverage, ensuring that all necessary information is accurate and up-to-date, with data entry into our software. The candidate will also prepare patients charts for upcoming appointments. The ideal candidate will have a strong dental office front desk duties, understanding of dental terminology, understanding of benefits, and the ability to navigate various insurance systems. You will play a crucial role in facilitating smooth operations within our dental office, contributing to the overall patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough insurance verification for patients prior to their appointments.
- Review and interpret insurance policies, including in and out of network plans.
- Utilize knowledge of CDT-10 coding to ensure accurate billing and coding practices.
- Maintain and update records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding their insurance coverage and any necessary documentation.
- Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve any discrepancies related to insurance claims.
- Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and procedures that may affect verification processes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in dental terminology and understanding of managed care systems.
- Experience with insurance verification processes is required.
- Familiarity with ICD-10 coding and its application in dental benefits.
- Previous experience working in a dental office setting is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are essential for maintaining accurate records.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with patients and staff.
