About the Role:


We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets, specifically in Reference Data, Market Data, and Regulatory Reporting. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry and a deep understanding of market data systems, data management practices, and the regulatory landscape affecting the capital markets. This individual will play a critical role in analyzing business requirements, optimizing data flows, and supporting compliance with regulatory reporting standards.

Job description:

A Technical Business Analyst is required to work within and, at times, lead teams developing and delivering transformational change projects on behalf of major investment banks and other top tier financial services companies.

During client engagements, the successful candidate will usually work as a part of small team of BIP consultants and perform activities such as requirements gathering and analysis, technical evaluations and specifications, functional analysis, and testing.

With experience, and a greater understanding of BIP’s engagement model, the individual will have the opportunity to lead project teams, managing stakeholder relationships and ensuring timely delivery of work.

Through investment in research, training and development, the opportunity also exists to develop specific areas of deep expertise for which the successful candidate will become recognized as the company expert, proactively supporting sales strategy and activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience working in the investment banking industry, preferably with one or more areas of specialism.
  • Experience working on Capital Markets Reference Data Platforms.
  • A practical knowledge of trade lifecycle and risk processes.
  • A good knowledge of one or more financial product sets including market structure, pricing methodologies and risk characteristics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including authoring of business documents and presentations, running workshops and stakeholder management.
  • Experience in a software development environment.
  • The ability to conduct careful, structured analysis on complex problems or requirements to support defensible conclusions and solutions.
  • A detailed and comprehensive approach to gathering of requirements to form coherent specifications and similar material.
  • A thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and the role of the Business Analyst within it.
  • Experience in delivering logical and comprehensive test strategies and clear, concise test cases.
  • 3 years’ experience working (and working knowledge of) python and/or java.
  • A practical knowledge of FRTB (Fundamental Review of Trading Book).
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, management, business, computer science, or computer engineering preferred.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Some development experience and / or knowledge of SQL.
  • Some experience of business process modelling and optimization and its documentation.
  • The ability to independently plan, organize and manage one’s own work and provide guidance and oversight for that of others.
  • Hands-on experience with any programming, querying or scripting languages.
  • Understanding of market or credit risk and associated regulations.
  • Ability to analyze regulatory requirements and produce formal specifications.

**The base salary range for this role is $90,000-$150,000**

BIP US provides a reasonable range of compensation for our roles. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, level of experience, and knowledge.

Salary : $90,000 - $150,000
