Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to support a strategic Finance Transformation initiative focused on transitioning financial close, reporting, and governance processes from a public company operating model to a private company environment.
The Project Manager will work closely with Program Leadership and Finance stakeholders to coordinate transformation activities across Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, IT, and other business functions. The role will be responsible for maintaining project plans, tracking milestones and dependencies, managing risks and issues, coordinating meetings and workshops, and ensuring workstreams remain aligned with overall program objectives.
This is a hands-on project delivery role requiring strong organization, stakeholder management, communication, and analytical skills, along with an understanding of Finance processes and large-scale transformation initiatives.
What you will be doing:
- Support the delivery of Finance Transformation initiatives across multiple functional workstreams.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and action items.
- Track project progress against agreed deliverables and proactively identify schedule risks or potential delays.
- Maintain RAID logs covering project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies.
- Coordinate activities across Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, IT, consultants, and third-party vendors.
- Support Program Leadership in preparing governance meetings, steering committee materials, and executive-level status updates.
- Coordinate recurring project and workstream meetings, including agendas, meeting materials, action items, and follow-ups.
- Assist Finance teams with documenting current-state and future-state financial close and reporting processes.
- Support the implementation of revised monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
- Track process changes, ownership, SLAs, deliverables, and dependencies across Finance functions.
- Support initiatives to streamline and improve financial close and reporting processes.
- Assist with documenting reporting requirements, KPI definitions, reporting templates, and data requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance and IT teams on process improvements, system changes, and automation opportunities.
- Support technology initiatives involving ERP, consolidation, planning, close, and reporting platforms.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions with Finance and business stakeholders.
- Track decisions, action items, and outstanding deliverables and ensure appropriate follow-through.
- Develop project dashboards, status reports, milestone reporting, and other project management materials.
- Monitor resource requirements, project deliverables, and key dependencies across workstreams.
- Escalate risks, issues, and project blockers to Program Leadership in a timely manner.
- Support change management activities, including stakeholder communications, training coordination, and organizational readiness.
- Maintain project documentation and ensure appropriate governance and project-management standards are followed.
- Build strong working relationships across Finance, Technology, Transformation, and business teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 6 years of Project Management, PMO, Finance Transformation, or business transformation experience.
- Experience supporting complex, cross-functional projects within a large corporate or consulting environment.
- Experience developing and maintaining project plans, milestones, RAID logs, status reports, and governance materials.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance, risk management, and delivery processes.
- Experience coordinating multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and project dependencies simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Ability to prepare clear and concise project reporting for senior management and Program Leadership.
- Experience working with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, or other corporate finance functions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced transformation environment with changing priorities and tight deadlines.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience supporting Finance Transformation initiatives, particularly financial close, financial reporting, or finance operating model projects.
- Understanding of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
- Exposure to public-company reporting, private-company environments, private equity-backed organizations, SEC reporting, or SOX compliance.
- Experience supporting projects involving ERP, consolidation, planning, close, or reporting platforms.
- Exposure to platforms such as SAP, Oracle, OneStream, Hyperion, BlackLine, Workday, or Anaplan.
- Experience working within a PMO or Transformation Office.
- Consulting or Big Four experience is a plus.
