Assistant Production Manager
Purpose:
The Assistant Production Manager's role is multifaceted and works closely with the Blending Senior Managers and other team members to ensure that the product meets the market's expectations, along with the company’s efficiency and safety standards.
Job Accountabilities:
- Ensure development, implementation, and auditing by monitoring and verification of assigned operations processes
- Ensuring efficient workflows by making sure bins are accurately monitored, filled and trued up.
- Serve as a second set of eyes in all hand adds, including drugs.
- Act as the backup for mixing and drying operations
- Enforcing safety and company protocols in the defined area(s)
- Reporting on progress as scheduled throughout the day
- Oversee quality control throughout the assigned production process.
- Identify potential bottlenecks to optimize operations.
- Provide regular status updates to the Senior Manager of Back Production and Warehousing.
- Verification of production records, reports, and documentation.
- Monitors the multitasks of filling micros and totes, monitoring potential deviations, and responding accurately to batching alarms
- Balance quality, productivity, and safety to achieve results in all areas
- Performs other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Required Education: High School Diploma
- Required Experience: Preferred 3 years of experience in the manufacturing of premixes
- Willing and able to work off hours, overtime, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Willing and able to wear the necessary Personal Protection equipment (PPE) (i.e. hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, chemical suit, respirator, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs)
- Ability to pass a written and driving exam to prove capability of safely operating a forklift
- Physically able to lift and move 50lb. on a regular occurring basis
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word (to write business correspondence), Excel (for use of spreadsheets, reporting, simple formulas) and Outlook (for internal and external correspondence)
- Experience assisting with a variety of projects
