SUMMARY OF POSITION:

BioWest Ag Solutions is seeking a Plant Operations Specialist to assist with day-to-day production activities at the BioWest Ag Solutions Nampa, ID Facility, including manufacturing/mix production, transportation/delivery, and shop/facility maintenance. The Plant Operations Specialist meets production timelines, ensures accurate manufacturing processes and mixes, ensures timely and accurate reporting of documents, meets product quality parameters, and ensures a safe working environment.

This position reports to the Nampa Production Plant Manager and supports the functions and goals of the BioWest Nampa Production Facility and the BioWest Ag Solutions' Fertilizer Operations Division.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Receives direction from Production Plant Manager and other operators
  • Prepares and loads raw material for the mixing process
  • Performs accurate manufacturing processes and mixes
  • Delivers fertilizer to fields and other plant locations and picks up and delivers raw materials
  • Operates production equipment and machinery
  • Performs basic troubleshooting and repair of production equipment
  • Inspects product exiting the mix lines
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
  • Completes all steps to ensure a safe working environment

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • CDL license is required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • Basic math skills and percentages
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing environments and needs with the season
  • Ability to learn new skills
  • Experience driving a forklift
  • Ability to give full attention to performing the job duties; attention to detail is essential
  • Experience working in manufacturing or farm/fertilizer operations
  • Committed to participating in a safe work environment

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; formal education in agriculture or related degree preferred
  • Basic math skills and determining percentages
  • Experience in the agriculture/farming industry or manufacturing is a plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift up to 55lbs (25kgs)
  • Availability to work on call, extended hours, evenings, weekends and oftentimes alone
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
