Job Summary

The primary responsibility for this position is to work at the end of the extrusion line to properly handle belt produced according to work order requirements and production schedules. This position should work effectively with Line Operator, Group Leader/Manager, QA Techs, R&D, and Sales. This position should strive to meet company goals and objectives, seek assistance when necessary, and be open to working with others to solve problems. Essential Duties

· Review current and upcoming production schedule and work order documents.

· Review, prepare and set-up raw materials according to recipes.

· Pre-stage, set up, and monitor the Utility Operator end of the extrusion line to wind belt according to packaging, labeling, quality specifications and belt standards.

· Communicate constantly with the Line Operator during the production run to successfully solve problems, produce quality belting, and meet department production goals.

· Notify Group Leader/Manager regarding line stoppage, equipment failures, tooling problems or raw materials shortages.

· Report roll tally to Operator throughout the run.

· Assist Line Operator with startup by threading ovens and preparing adhesive tooling.

· Accurately complete and follow all documentation.

· Keep up with production to wind belt into correct roll lengths and follow work order instructions to package rolls.

· Use calipers or other measuring devices to ensure that belt is within the dimension specification.

· Stringently follow the splice process with no errors.

· Perform all quality measurement required on the work order and constantly monitor product for spec and visual anomalies.

· Move finished skids to their proper holding areas.

· Store calipers properly at the end of each shift.

· Prepare area and supplies for next shift.

· Immediately report any safety issue or accident/injury.

· Follow guidelines established for safety purposes.

· Strive to meet department goals for prime rates and prime feet per labor hour.

· Function at a high level in a team-based, problem-solving environment.

· Follow directions and seek clarification from Manager as needed.

· Keep work area clean and organized.

· Treat coworkers as you would want to be treated.

· Have reliable attendance and punctuality.

· Must be able to work overtime.

· Perform basic math and some conversions.

· Actions and communications should contribute to a productive team environment.

· Assist R&D Lab with Experimental Runs (X‑Runs) as scheduled or necessary.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

· The job generally operates on the production floor in a manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses equipment such as label printers, computers, measuring/calibration devices, winding equipment, ladders, and banding equipment. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment and building can be loud.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. This job regularly requires the use of ladders. The lifting requirement for this position is 50 lbs.

· The employee is occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance and stoop, kneel, climb ladders, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience

· High School diploma or its equivalent (required)

· Basic computer skills (preferred)

· Manufacturing experience (preferred)

Pay: From $19.50 per hour
