What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Maintenance Technician position at BioTalent?
BioTalent are partnered with a Pharmaceutical Manufacturing business in the Fort Lauderdale area to search for an experienced Maintenance Technician.
In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment, HVAC, and utility systems within a regulated cleanroom environment. You’ll play a key part in ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), supporting product safety, quality, and efficacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform daily facility walk-throughs to assess equipment and critical areas.
- Execute preventive and unplanned maintenance on HVAC, utility, and facility systems.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs.
- Prepare materials and parts for scheduled maintenance and shutdowns.
- Document all activities in the Quality Management System (QMS) with precision and timeliness.
- Support investigations and corrective actions related to equipment and systems.
- Maintain mechanical spaces to GMP standards and support facility construction projects.
- Participate in emergency response and hurricane readiness activities.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required; Associate Degree in Engineering preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in a GMP pharmaceutical or biotech setting.
- Proven experience working in cleanroom environments.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and documentation skills.
- Familiarity with QMS, CMMS, and control systems (BAS/BMS, PLC, HMI).
- Technical certifications such as EPA 608, HVAC, CEST, CMRT, or NCCER are highly desirable.
- Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
