What are the responsibilities and job description for the Managing Director and Site Head position at BioTalent?
BioTalent is partnered with a global CDMO to appoint a Managing Director & Site Head for a growing manufacturing facility.
This is a rare opportunity to lead both an established manufacturing site and the operational build-out of a significant new peptide production facility. You'll be responsible for site strategy, operational performance, culture, talent, customer delivery, and ensuring the business is ready to successfully launch and scale a major expansion.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading all site operations, safety, quality, and financial performance
- Developing and executing the long-term growth strategy for the site
- Building the future leadership team, organizational structure, and operating model
- Driving operational readiness for a new peptide manufacturing facility
- Partnering with engineering, quality, technical operations, MSAT, and project teams through facility startup and scale-up
- Overseeing technology transfers, capacity planning, asset utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Acting as the key site representative with customers, regulators, community stakeholders, and corporate leadership
What we're looking for:
- BS/MS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Significant leadership experience within pharmaceutical, chemical, or CDMO manufacturing environments
- Proven experience leading site operations, P&L responsibility, operational excellence, safety, quality, and customer delivery
- Strong understanding of cGMP manufacturing and regulated operations
- Experience supporting major capital projects, facility expansions, technology transfer, startup, commissioning, or operational readiness is highly desirable
- Executive-level leadership, stakeholder management, and team-building capabilities
This role would suit an established Site Head, General Manager, Plant Manager, VP Operations, or Operations Director looking to lead a strategically important site expansion within one of the fastest-growing areas of pharmaceutical manufacturing.
