We are a dynamic prosthetic and orthotic company located at the heart of the Midwest, dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals through the creation of custom prosthetic and orthotic devices. Our central fabrication lab in Merrillville, IN is currently seeking a talented and dependable Fabrication Technician to join our team.
Join our team with this entry-level, full-time position that requires minimal experience. We provide on-the-job training to help you succeed. Our central fabrication lab hours are 5am-4pm, Monday through Thursday, with an hour lunch and the flexibility to contribute a few overtime hours per week. Job Responsibilities
- Fabricate and repair custom prosthetic and orthotic devices
- Utilize sawing, carving, cutting, and grinding techniques on wood, plastic, and metal
- Using various hand tools and materials, including sheet plastic and fiberglass
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Colloborate with our team to ensure efficient production
- Demonstrate attention to detail and craftmanship in every project
Requirements:
- Mechanical inclination
- Flexibility to travel to other company locations if needed
- Reliable transportation
- Organizational, time management, and planning skills
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus
- Handyman experience is a plus
- Comfortable using a variety of hand tools and machinery
