Job Description
The Production Planner II manages production schedules for designated product lines, balancing customer requirements with production efficiency. This role requires independent decision-making, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to proactively resolve planning challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize detailed production schedules to meet demand forecasts.
- Analyze capacity constraints and adjust schedules to maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate with procurement, manufacturing, and logistics to minimize material shortages and delays.
- Identify risks in the production plan and propose solutions.
- Participate in daily tier meetings with production to ensure production delays are minimized.
- Monitor KPIs such as schedule adherence, inventory levels, and on-time delivery. Develop solutions to ensure KPIs are met.
- Participate in process improvement projects related to planning and scheduling.
- Coordinate with senior planners with NPI work to ensure OEM production is minimally impacted.
- Provide mentorship and training to Planner I team members.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, or related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in production planning or supply chain management.
- Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and data analysis.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
