The Line Supervisor is responsible for providing hands-on leadership to MF Operators (all levels), Floaters, and Lead Operators during their assigned shift. This role ensures safety, quality, delivery, and production goals are met by directly overseeing day-to-day operations. The Line Supervisor plays a key role in process improvement, team development, and ensuring compliance with Biomerics’ standards and regulatory requirements.

Job Description
The Line Supervisor is responsible for providing hands-on leadership to MF Operators (all levels), Floaters, and Lead Operators during their assigned shift. This role ensures safety, quality, delivery, and production goals are met by directly overseeing day-to-day operations. The Line Supervisor plays a key role in process improvement, team development, and ensuring compliance with Biomerics’ standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily production operations, ensuring adherence to work instructions, quality standards, and delivery schedules.
- Provide day-to-day coaching, performance feedback, and development support for operators, floaters, and leads - including conducting reviews and recommending merit increases or promotions as appropriate.
- Ensure efficient staffing and crew scheduling to meet production demands across assigned work centers.
- Monitor and report on KPIs, including safety, yield, labor efficiency, scrap reduction, and delivery performance; take corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs, good manufacturing practices (GMP), and ISO 13485 standards, while also leading lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kanban, and continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste and optimize workflow.
- Conduct start-up and handoff meetings; ensure smooth communication between shifts and departments.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Scheduling teams to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
- Support the validation of new products and processes; assist in managing non-conforming products and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and other departments to support root cause investigations and corrective actions.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and enforcing company policies; recommend performance-based actions such as merit increases or promotions.
- Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and teamwork on the production floor.
- Maintain communication across all levels to promote transparency, clarity, and alignment with business objectives.
Education/Certifications
- High School Diploma or GED; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or medical device environment.
- 4–6 years of hands-on operational, technical, or quality experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Working knowledge of lean manufacturing tools and ISO 13485 QMS standards.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ability to work with ERP and data tracking systems.
- Ability to manage priorities, make sound decisions, and maintain a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust, motivate teams, and drive performance.
- Must be able to stand, sit and bend for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- May require occasional bending, stooping, and repetitive motion.
