Research Scientist/Sr. Research Scientist

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative individual to join our Biochemistry team. The successful candidate will contribute to the discovery and characterization of novel therapeutics by designing and executing biochemical and biophysical experiments, developing robust assays, and generating high-quality data to inform project decisions. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including medicinal chemistry and biology.

Responsibilities

• Help design, execute, and analyze biochemical and biophysical experiments to support therapeutic discovery programs
• Interpret data, troubleshoot experimental challenges, and contribute to next steps to advance project objectives
• Participate in experimental strategies, establishing timelines, and communicating results and recommendations
• Develop, optimize, and implement assays to evaluate ligand binding, target engagement, compound potency, and mechanism of action
• Perform protein expression and purification using bacterial and mammalian expression systems
• Support characterization of proteins and protein-ligand interactions using techniques such as SPR, TR-FRET, ELISA, and related biochemical and biophysical methods
• Maintain accurate and detailed experimental records in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN)
• Present data at team meetings and contribute to scientific discussions that drive project progression
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues across multiple functional areas in a fast-paced research environment

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Structural Biology, or a related scientific discipline with 2 years of relevant industry or academic research experience; or Master's degree with 1 years of relevant experience
• Hands-on experience developing and executing biochemical and/or biophysical assays, including techniques such as SPR, TR-FRET, ELISA, or related methodologies
• Experience with recombinant protein production and purification in bacterial and/or mammalian expression systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience troubleshooting assays and experimental workflows
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and contribute effectively to collaborative, cross-functional teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with computational biology, bioinformatics, or AI/ML approaches applied to drug discovery
• Experience with proteomics workflows, mass spectrometry-based protein characterization, and peptide mapping
• Familiarity with protein engineering, antibody discovery, or biologics development is a plus
• Experience working in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical research environment
