Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated full time Sr Research Investigator/ Research Investigator. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting discovery stage programs with a particular focus on targeted protein degradation and next generation biologic therapeutics.
The ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in mass spec-based bioanalysis, protein and peptide characterization, and analytical assay development.
This is a cross-functional role with significant impact on the research and development pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, optimization, and fit for purpose validation of LC-MS/MS assays and IP (hybrid ligand binding) assay for quantification of biomarkers, proteins, peptides, cytokines, and metabolites
- Design and execute workflows for peptide mapping, post-translational modification (PTM) analysis, disulfide bond mapping, and glycosylation analysis
- Develop fit-for-purpose bioanalytical methods for proteins with complex attributes (e.g., high MW, high glycosylation, unexpected MWs) using advanced enzymatic digestion strategies
- Determine and communicate goals, timelines, and priorities for bioanalysis in cross-functional project teams
- Conduct advanced data processing and statistical analysis using multiple software from different vendors
- Maintain and troubleshoot analytical instrumentation
- Maintain technical reports, SOP, and an Electronic notebook
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Extensive experience with mass spectrometry analysis of proteins and peptides (Sciex QTRAP, Sciex Q-TOF, Thermo Orbitrap Fusion/Lumos, QQQ with MRM method)
- Demonstrated expertise in bioanalytical method development and validation of large molecule analytes
- Experience performing intact and subunit protein mass spectrometry analysis, including characterization of monoclonal antibodies, fusion proteins
- Hands-on experience with a range of chromatography techniques RP-HPLC, SEC, HILIC, nanoLC, microLC)
- Proficient in wet lab sample preparation techniques (SPE, IP, LLE)
- Ability to maintain and troubleshoot mass spec instrumentation in close collaboration with vendors to ensure optimal system performance and uptime
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to balance multitasks with competing priorities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
