Job Description
- The Unified Government Public Health Department is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner to join the Personal Health Services Division, with a primary focus on Family Planning/Well Woman services.
- This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive, client-centered reproductive health care.
- Key duties include performing physical assessments including sports/work physicals and limited acute care services, providing routine gynecological care including pelvic/breast exams and colposcopy services (training available), prescribing medications, and ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests within the scope of the clinic setting.
- The Nurse Practitioner will also contribute to the development of clinical protocols and procedures and provide patient education on a range of health topics, including pregnancy options counseling.
- The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent time management, and effective organizational and communication skills. A commitment to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to diverse populations is essential.
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
- Licensed Registered Nurse with an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) License.
- Must have an active and unencumbered license and be licensed as an APRN/NP to practice Nursing in the state of Kansas.
- Experience in reproductive health (family planning, OB/GYN, or women's health)
- Title X knowledge is a plus.
- Must be able to work with a diverse client population, work with multidisciplinary teams, exercise judgment and refer clients as needed.
- Bilingual Spanish/English a plus and/or willingness to utilize interpreting services.
- BLS certification.
- Strong communication skills. Excellent benefits.
- Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:00 pm,
- Late clinic every Wednesday 8:30am to 6:00pm last scheduled appointment time.
