Pay Range: $160,000 to $195,000 Annually (dependent on experience/qualifications). Salary is based on Long Beach, CA location, and will be adjusted for candidates in other areas.

Job Purpose: Under general direction of the VP of Project Execution, the PMO Lead is responsible for managing project manager team members while establishing and improving BGE’s project management framework. This includes defining standards, implementing best practices, and ensuring the project portfolio delivers on strategic objectives. This position provides guidance and support to project managers and other stakeholders, ensuring consistent and effective project delivery across the organization, supported by standardized PMO reporting, governance logs, and executive-level performance metrics.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Defines and implements a project management framework, including methodologies, standards, and processes, to ensure consistent and high-quality project delivery
- Responsible for all aspects of managing project manager team members, including resource planning, performance management, coaching, and development
- Partners with executive leadership to define project priorities and ensures the project portfolio aligns with BGE’s strategic objectives
- Establishes and manages project governance, including stage-gate reviews, audit procedures, and compliance checks
- Reports on the overall health of the project portfolio to senior management and stakeholders
- Accountable for establishing, maintaining, reviewing, and submitting standardized PMO logs and leadership reports to support executive decision making, operational transparency, and risk management across the EPC portfolio.
- Tracks resource utilization and forecasts future capacity needs based on the project roadmap
- Leads, mentors, and coaches a team of project managers to enhance project delivery capabilities
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth within the PMO
- Provides guidance and support to project teams on project management best practices and methodologies
- Maintains key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor and track project performance
- Develops and maintains dashboards and reports to provide transparency and insights on project status, risks, and budget to all stakeholders
- Facilitates regular project reviews and portfolio performance meetings
- Develops a standard approach for identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks and issues across the portfolio
- Oversees the change control process, including assessing impact and ensuring changes are properly communicated and documented
- Travel as necessary, with the ability to obtain a Passport to travel outside the United States

Skills & Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business Administration, Engineering
- Minimum 7 years of progressive project management experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a PMO leadership or management role
- Ability to read and interpret proposals, engineering drawings, project schedules, and technical material
- Expert knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid)
- Experience with portfolio management, resource management, and capacity planning tools
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Strong team builder and motivator, able to inspire a diverse team
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders
- Creative problem solver with the ability to identify innovative solutions to complex challenges
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate with team members at all levels of an organization, to build and maintain relationships with direct reports, vendors, BGE team members, and clients, to drive tasks to completion
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam Revu, MS Project)
- Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
