The Role
The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role focuses on building scalable data models, developing intuitive reports and dashboards, and supporting deployment and adoption across the business.
JOB LOCATION:
Louisville, CO - Hybrid
What You'll Do
- Develop new and maintain existing BI reports, dashboards, and queries.
- Work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to understand task requirements.
- Perform unit testing to verify data accuracy and integrity.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to BI solutions.
- Documentation of BI processes, data models, and system configurations.
- Perform ad-hoc data analysis as needed.
- Assist in the administration of the BI ecosystem (publish models/reports, schedule refreshes, etc.).
- Assist business users with using published reports/dashboards.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a closely related field.
- 2 years’ development experience with Microsoft Power BI or similar.
- 1-2 years’ experience in writing SQL (or similar).
- Strong proficiency in DAX, M, and SQL for data modeling, queries, and optimization.
- Experience building scalable, efficient data models for reporting and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with ETL tools and processes (e.g., SSIS, Talend, Apache NiFi, Airbyte, Informatica).
- Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Java).
- Skilled in developing user-friendly, visually effective dashboards, reports, and KPI scorecards.
- Understanding of data visualization best practices and UX/UI principles.
- Experience validating data accuracy and performance of BI reports.
- Knowledge of data warehouse architectures (star/snowflake schemas) and relational databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL), preferred.
- Familiarity with HIPAA, regulated environments, and/or lab systems (e.g., LIMS), preferred.
- Experience with issue-tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jira, Freshservice), preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and in remote or distributed teams.

- Annual Base Salary Range $72,800 - $85,700
