Duties
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary pharmacy team, including pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, ensuring optimal performance and professional growth
- Oversee clinical pharmacy services such as medication therapy management, patient assessments, and medical management programs tailored for complex conditions like oncology, immunology, or rare diseases
- Ensure adherence to all federal and state pharmacy laws, including HIPAA, and pharmaceutical regulatory compliance
- Implement inventory management strategies to optimize medication stock levels, reduce waste, and ensure availability of critical specialty drugs
- Utilize Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), Electronic Health Record (EHR), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document patient care activities accurately and efficiently
- Conduct patient care activities such as patient assessments, medication administration counseling
- Maintain strict adherence to clinical confidentiality policies while communicating effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Stay current on drug regulation changes, healthcare compliance policies, and new therapeutic guidelines to inform practice improvements
Experience
- Proven experience in specialty pharmacy management or healthcare leadership roles with a focus on clinical pharmacy services
- Demonstrated expertise in managing pharmacy teams within LTC (Long-Term Care) or community pharmacy environments
- Experience with pharmacy software systems such as Pioneer Rx system, and inventory management tools
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology principles related to pediatrics and adult patients across diverse healthcare settings
- Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to pharmaceutical practice and patient care documentation
- Hands-on experience practicing as a licensed pharmacist and healthcare compliance regulations
- Ability to assess patient needs through comprehensive evaluations while managing multiple priorities effectively
