BioTown Biogas - Dairy Operations Manager Job Description

Company Summary: Bio-Town Biogas ("BTB") is a waste-to-value company which utilizes waste organic products to produce renewable electricity and renewable natural gas while also reducing carbon emissions.

Position Summary: The Dairy Operations Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and safety of the Dairy Operations Department of the BTB portfolio. This role oversees the day-to-day operations of offsite Dairy Farm Operations.

Responsibilities

Operations and Production

• Lead daily operations of the Dairy Farm Operations to include off site equipment, manure collection, mixing, and separation operations.
• Develop standard work and SOP's for the Dairy Operations Department
• Monitor and report processing targets and escalate downtime events.
• Monitor KPI's for equipment uptime and solids content of the feed leaving the farms
• Maintain the relationship between BTB and the Dairy Farm management for operational coordination.
• Coordinate and schedule the trucking loads for Bio Town Ag support.
• Gather feed samples of the farms and submit for lab testing on a weekly basis.
  
  

Maintenance and Reliability

• Facilitate maintenance requests via the CMMS and work closely with the Maintenance Department for all issues beyond internal department resources
• Participate in department Root Cause Analysis meetings.
  
  

Environmental, Health, Safety, and Regulatory (EHSR)

• Establish a safety-first culture within the Dairy Operations Department.
• Enforce all site safety standards and policies within the Dairy Operations Department.
• Ensure the training for all lifesaving EHSR policies (LOTO, confined work, hot work, working from heights, hoisting operations) are executed.
  
  

Financial Oversight

• Manage and develop the Operations Budget for the department.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required, engineering or technical field preferred
• 5 years of relevant leadership experience in manufacturing, oil and gas, renewable energy, or processing intensive industrial environments
• Experience in operating computerized systems (CMMS, ERP, control systems)
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and developing high performance teams.
• Experience developing standard work programs with grading criteria that link to performance management preferred
• Experience developing and training on operation's SOPs preferred.
