CNC Machinist – Setup & Troubleshooting

Binks US LLC
Jackson, TN Full Time
POSTED ON 9/14/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 1/11/2027

Your Experience Matters Here

If you’re the machinist people turn to when a machine isn’t running quite right, a first article needs to be dialed in, or a part isn’t coming off exactly to spec, we want to talk to you.

We’re looking for a seasoned CNC Machinist who knows how to set up, operate, troubleshoot, and fine-tune machining equipment—and who isn’t intimidated by equipment that has a little history behind it.

This is a hands-on role for someone who understands that great machining takes more than knowing how to run a program. You’ll use your experience with tooling, offsets, inspection, materials, and machine behavior to consistently produce quality parts and help solve problems on the floor.

What You’ll Do

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machinery through first article and production.
  • Serve as a process expert and resource for other machinists, sharing knowledge and helping train team members.
  • Work alongside programmers, engineers, and manufacturing teams on insourcing projects and process improvements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, bills of materials, work instructions, and part specifications.
  • Select, maintain, and change tooling and tooling holders to maintain machine settings and part quality.
  • Apply tool wear offsets and make adjustments to keep production running within specification.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring and gauging equipment.
  • Safely load and unload raw materials and finished parts.
  • Operate both CNC/NC-controlled and manual equipment as needed.
  • Perform secondary operations such as deburring during machine cycles.
  • Troubleshoot minor machine and process issues and recognize when a larger issue requires additional support.
  • Monitor cycle time, quantity, quality, and other production metrics.
  • Document quality measurements, defects, and required production information.
  • Maintain tooling, remove chips and shavings, and perform routine cleaning and light maintenance.
  • Maintain strong 5S standards and contribute to a safe, organized work environment.
  • Support manufacturing engineers with production needs, projects, and special assignments.
  • Help drive SQDC performance and continuous improvement throughout the machining cell.

The Experience We’re Looking For

You don't need to know everything—but you do need to know machining.

  • 3–5 years of successful experience setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machines.
  • Strong experience with one or more of the following: Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, and/or Okuma.
  • Experience working with older-generation or less-automated CNC equipment is highly valued.
  • Strong blueprint and part-specification reading skills.
  • Ability to independently set up machines and make adjustments to achieve quality first articles and consistent production.
  • Working knowledge of tool wear offsets and tooling changes.
  • Experience machining challenging materials such as Inconel, Monel, other nickel-based alloys, copper, aluminum, and/or titanium.
  • Proficiency using precision measuring equipment including micrometers, vernier calipers, comparators, pin gauges, thread gauges, and scales.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to producing quality parts.
  • Ability to prioritize work and operate effectively with minimal supervision.
  • High school diploma, GED, technical school certificate, or equivalent machining experience.

Why This Role Is Different

Your years of experience aren't just a qualification—they're an advantage.

We value machinists who can look at a machine, listen to how it's running, recognize when something isn't right, and know what to do next. The ability to work through real-world machining challenges, make the right adjustments, and keep quality and production on track is what makes an experienced machinist invaluable.

You'll also have the opportunity to share your knowledge, help develop other team members, and work directly with engineering and programming on new projects and process improvements.

If you've built your skills through years on the shop floor and you're looking for a role where that experience is genuinely useful, we'd like to meet you.

Apply today and bring your machining experience to a team that knows the value of a skilled machinist.
