We are seeking a postdoctoral scholar in the Department of Psychology at Binghamton University (SUNY) to work in the Early NeuroCognitive Development (ENCoDe) research team. The postdoctoral scholar is anticipated to work in collaboration with the principal investigator on ongoing NIH-funded studies and piloting for future research projects, focusing on tracking the early development of the social brain and social perception in infancy. This work involves hands-on participation in in-lab experimental EEG and MRI studies and the application of advanced EEG analysis methods. The postdoctoral scholar is initially expected to work on existing projects and datasets to then develop and launch their own program of research. Applicants must have prior research experience in developmental psychology or developmental cognitive neuroscience involving children or younger populations. First-authored publication(s) in the field of developmental cognitive neuroscience are preferred. The ideal candidate must be willing to work on a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the participating families.

Application review will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. The ideal start date for the position is August 2026, but an earlier or later start date can be negotiated. This is a full-time and in-person position for 12 months, with the possibility of renewal contingent on performance and funding availability.

Favorable consideration will be given to applicants with a record of research productivity and with experience or substantial interest in the following areas: social perception, early neurodevelopment, and neuroimaging and/or electrophysiological recording methods.

  • Programming experience (e.g., MATLAB, R, Python).
  • Skills in relevant statistical analyses.
  • Communication skills (written and oral) in English.
  • Organizational and project management skills.
