Description
Position Summary:
The Material Handler position supports the successful operations of the business by adding the day day-to-day operations of the Yard. Additionally, the Material Handler ensures that workers are performing their tasks correctly and that the yard associate's material handlers are trained.
Responsibilities
- Work inside the warehouse and outside in the yard, depending on the need. Must be open to working in the various climates
- Loads trucks for outgoing shipments
- Unloads the receiving of inbound product
- Pulls and prepares orders, packaging for shipment
- Complete all work orders accurately and in a timely manner
- Rotates product and safely moves product using a forklift (when needed)
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment
- Work with the team to ensure branch success and provide excellent customer service.
- Other duties as required by business needs or as assigned
Requirements
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma
- 1-year experience preferred
- Experience in distribution, shipping, and receiving
- Knowledge of equipment utilization and safety requirements
- Personal and professional integrity
- A clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety and integrity
- Use of tools and equipment
- Forklift experience is a plus!
- Order pulling
- Loading
- Bending, stooping, walking, standing for long periods, and heavy lifting are involved
