What are the responsibilities and job description for the Driver/Bin Cleaning Technician position at Bin Chiefs?
Bin Chiefs — We're Hiring: Driver / Bin Cleaning Technician
Full-Time Driver / Bin Cleaning Technician (Non-CDL Box Truck)
Location: Triad and Triangle Area · Pay:* $22/hour performance bonus · Type:* Full-Time (35–45 hrs/week)
Schedule: Hours may vary based on customer needs and weather conditions.
About the Role
Bin Chiefs is a residential bin cleaning service, and we take pride in one simple result: every customer's trash and recycling bins left fresh, sanitized, and looking sharp. We're hiring a full-time Driver / Bin Cleaning Technician to run one of our trucks, own a daily route, and be the face of Bin Chiefs at every home we serve.
This is an active, outdoor, hands-on job built around driving and quality work. You'll operate a large box truck - no CDL required - follow a mapped route from a company tablet, and use our truck-mounted power-wash system to clean bins at each stop. The equipment handles the heavy cleaning; your job is to run the route efficiently, keep the work clean, and treat every customer like the reason we're in business- because they are.
A Day on the Route
- Start your morning with a quick truck and equipment check before heading out.
- Work your assigned route using a company tablet for turn-by-turn navigation, stop notes, and invoicing.
- At each home, move, clean, and sanitize garbage and recycling bins with our power-wash system, then set them back in place ready to use.
- Keep the truck's water, waste, and wash systems running smoothly across the full route.
- Wrap up - offload waste, wash down the truck, and get it prepped for the next day.
- Help keep the fleet in shape: routine fluid checks, keeping trucks clean, and running vehicles in for scheduled service.
- When the route allows, drop Bin Chiefs flyers or door hangers in the neighborhoods you're working.
What You Bring
- A genuine work ethic and self-starter mindset - you take ownership of your route without needing to be managed stop to stop.
- Dependability and punctuality; the whole day's schedule leans on each truck rolling out on time.
- A customer-first attitude - friendly, professional, and reliable at every driveway.
- Willingness to work outdoors year-round. Heat, cold, rain or shine (we provide the gear).
- Basic mechanical awareness - enough to understand how the truck and wash system work and to flag issues early.
- Comfort using a smartphone or tablet for routing and communication.
- A safety-first approach and willingness to follow our training and procedures.
Driving & Eligibility
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Comfortable operating a large, non-CDL box truck - we'll train you on our specific vehicle.
- At least 21 years old.
- Able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Physical Demands
- Repeated bending, lifting, and maneuvering of residential bins throughout the route.
- Standing, walking, and working outdoors for the length of the shift.
- Safe operation of power-washing equipment.
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
Pay & Perks
- $22 per hour.
- Performance bonus - earn more for routes completed, quality of work, and customer satisfaction.
- Paid Time Off (PTO).
- Company truck, fuel, equipment, tablet, and weather gear - all provided.
- Paid, hands-on training. No prior bin-cleaning experience required.
