Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for operating within the department budget parameters.
- Responsible for manging all direct reports of the Special Events team, Included but not limited to scheduling, delegating, and assign daily task.
- Prepare venues for occasions such as seasonal events, exhibitions, etc.
- Overseeing event set up and removal per project.
- Insures proper execution of daily work tasks.
- This position is responsible for interacting with outside contractors and in some instances act as a representative of the department.
- Interacting with internal departments.
- Ensuring staff are trained and safety procedures are followed at all times.
- Supporting other event and F&B teams as needed during peak months.
- Assist with hiring process such as reviewing applications, setting up interviews and on the job training.
- Assist with employee counseling, and terminations.
- Assist with work orders and/or event orders through the rental system.
- Assist with scheduling/training reserve staff as needed.
- Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required.
- High school diploma (or GED). Additional training preferred.
- Ideal candidates will have at least two (2) years relevant event experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to providing world class internal/external guest service; proven leadership skills and the ability to build/motivate teams.
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Google docs, and Outlook. Basic math skills a must.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills; must be able to convey information clearly, concisely, and effectively.
- Strong planning, organizational, and project/time management skills; prioritizes work and can adapt as needed. Keen attention to detail with focus on quality and service.
- Proactive, takes initiative, and exercises good judgment; creatively problem solves and handles a variety of situations in a professional manner.
- Can operate effectively in an intense and dynamic guest service environment.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
- Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
- Work outside and inside in a variety of weather conditions with fluctuations in temperature.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be at least 21 years of age.
