Job Description
The Frith House Chef works on site at Frith House and is responsible for meal preparation and service. The Frith House Chef will work with the family to collaboratively develop menus and coordinate planning for casual weekday meals, as well as regular events and functions as needed. The Chef will prepare and serve healthy meals across a range of cuisines and styles, including breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and will also prepare meal options up to several days in advance. The Chef will also prepare children's meals and snacks.
The Frith House Chef will also work to arrange for catered meals and service for larger family and corporate events, and will provide general assistance and support for family, guests, and staff.
The Chef's will be scheduled 5 days per week; daily schedules will vary, depending on the family activities and/or events scheduled that day.

Essential Job Duties
- Weekly menu reviews with the family, completes meal preparation, and serving of food to the residence and household. Coordinates meal and snack prep for children; is aware of any food allergies and adjusts menus accordingly.
- Ensures all equipment and appliances are properly cleaned, maintained and in safe, good working order. Notifies Frith House Operations Manager of any issues and requests maintenance and/or vendor support as needed.
- Cleans and organizes kitchen, refrigerators, pantry and equipment.
- Checks personal and event calendars in order to properly plan and prepare meals.
- Maintains pantry, ingredients, and supplies; responsible for ordering and obtaining groceries, and maintaining food items with sufficient stock for the residents/family.
- Accountable for proper rotation, storage and dating of all food items.
- Ensure all items are properly prepared, garnished, and consistently presented to quality standards; check all food items daily for quality and freshness.
- Works as part of a dynamic Frith House operations team to coordinate for meals, service, and special events and functions.
- Contributes to the seamless, safe, and smooth operation of the residence for family, team, guests, and vendors.
- High school diploma. Two-year culinary degree, additional training, and/or industry certifications strongly preferred. ServSafe certification required.
- Three (3) years of related culinary experience, preferably in a private and/or fine dining/upscale setting. Ideal candidate will have exposure to both formal and casual service styles, a la carte, and banquet dining. Some baking and pastry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to world class internal/external guest service.
- Proficiency with different culinary styles and cuisines; healthy menu options; formal, and informal dining presentation.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to establish positive, professional working relationships with co-workers, and across departments.
- Excellent time and project management, organizational skills; keen attention to details; ability to adapt, be flexible under deadlines; multi-tasker.

- Able to sit, stand, twist, bend, push, pull, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis for periods of up to 10 hours a day, during evening events.
- Able to work effectively in a kitchen environment with occasional extremes in temperature and conditions (heat, cold, humidity) for an extended period of time.
- Ability to climb stairs and step ladders as needed.
- Manual dexterity; ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment and appliances.
