Position Responsibilities: Golf Operations:
- Exhibit a comprehensive understanding and ability to enforce the rules of golf and the Club’s rules on golf.

- Develop, maintain, and consistently enforce high standards of conduct, performance, and operating procedures.
- Maintain and/or develop industry connections to enhance technology, latest trends, and build upon a network to develop future staffing.
- Play golf with a diverse group of members of all skill levels.

Experience Required
- Maintain PGA of America or LPGA membership in good standing in an active classification.
- Preferred Level 1 PGA or higher and actively working towards Membership.
- Lead Assistant Golf Professional experience preferred of a minimum of 2 years of verifiable, progressive leadership and golf management experience at a well-recognized Club.
- To promote The Biltmore Golf Course and grow the game of golf.
- Be a creative, forward-thinking golf professional who is encouraged and enhances golf operations.
- Understand the desires and expectations of the membership by keeping an accurate ‘pulse’ of the Club and evolve all programming and service levels as demand changes.
- Prioritize building relationships with members on an individual basis, which improves the ‘member experience’ and creating connection with the Club.
- Act as a mentor and coach to Assistant Professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve both facility and individual goals.
- Ability to attract, develop, motivate, and retain a high performing team of service minded professionals that provides a high quality of member’s service.
- Develop and coordinate proactive internal communication on all golf activities throughout each level of the golf operation and Club.
- In conjunction with the Head Professional, the Lead Assistant will assist in conducting various golf tournaments, initiate and promote golf activities for members and guests at the Biltmore.
- Assist the Director of Golf with new ideas and ways to make the Biltmore experience better each and every year. New ideas and suggestions will always be welcomed and encouraged.
- Supervise the daily operations when the Director of Golf and Head Professional are not present.
- Help implement management strategies set forth by the Director of Golf, Head Professional and the General Manager.
- Devote a reasonable number of hours to maintaining your golf game and playing with all types of members.
- The Lead Assistant Professional should understand the vision and goals of the Club and strive to embrace them effectively, and strategically on a regular basis.
- Be a great representative of the Biltmore by representing yourself and the facility in everything you do on and off property.
- Assist in Merchandise planning, monitoring, and maintaining.
- Responsible for daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly functionality of the merchandising strategy set forth by the Director of Golf.
- Assist in all golf-related purchasing, specifically hard goods (golf balls, gloves, golf clubs, etc.).
- Assist with physical inventories and the display of merchandise. Assist in the development of necessary systems to safeguard inventories.
- Assist in receiving merchandise and submitting invoices to accounting for payment.
- Oversee the Online tee sheet and POS system, starting, and monitoring of play.
- Oversee the Outside Services Operation.
- Ensure proper of outside team and ensure they have all the necessary tools and resources to be successful in their duties.
- Assist the Director of Golf and Head Professional with recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and supervision of staff including Assistant Professionals, and outside service staff.
- Oversee the operations of a well-managed practice facility.
- Maintain and manage the rental club program and inventory
- Maintain a close working relationship with the Superintendent and other department heads.
- Assist in coordinating written correspondence, reporting, member eblast newsletters, promotional materials, and communications for golf operations.
- Be a positive representative of management to all other staff members throughout the Biltmore property.
