- Develop and implement strategies for demand planning, procurement, and sourcing to optimize inventory levels while minimizing costs.
- Conduct root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, stockouts, or excesses to identify process inefficiencies and implement corrective actions.
- Utilize data mining tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Nielsen to analyze supply chain analytics, sales trends, and stocking patterns for informed decision-making.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors through negotiation of contracts, pricing agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure reliable materials handling and timely delivery.
- Lead process improvement initiatives in warehouse distribution, shipping & receiving, order fulfillment, and materials management to enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee warehouse safety procedures including forklift operation and heavy lifting protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory control, logistics efficiency, and supplier performance for continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in supply chain management with a strong background in warehouse distribution, inventory control, and procurement functions.
- Demonstrated expertise with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems such as SAP or AS400, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform financial analysis, demand forecasting, and root cause analysis using SQL or other data collection methods.
- Familiarity with category management principles, merchandising strategies, and retail or e-commerce environments is highly desirable.
- Skilled in negotiation tactics with suppliers and vendors to secure favorable contracts while maintaining quality standards.
- Hands-on experience with materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to analyze complex data sets for process optimization.
- Knowledge of 3PL logistics providers, shipping & receiving operations, production planning, and materials management best practices.
