Teacher's Aide - Elk River, Minnesota

Step into a dynamic educational environment and play a crucial part in supporting high school students as a contract paraprofessional. Multiple positions are available, each offering the opportunity to work alongside educational professionals at one of several respected high schools. School sites include Blaine High School, Champlin Park High School, and Coon Rapids High School.

You’ll start with a 90-day contract at 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with the potential to convert to a direct hire after 422 contracted hours. The role begins at the end of August and wraps up in late November, giving you a rewarding term with the chance for a longer-term future.

Key Qualifications:

• Must be “Highly Qualified” by Minnesota standards:
  • Pass the MN Board Highly Qualified Para Exam (Para Educator Exam), OR
  • Possess at least 60 college credits (official transcripts required; diplomas are not sufficient)
• Resume and highly qualified documentation are required at the time of application
• Flexibility and willingness to assist students with all classroom and support needs, including toileting when necessary
• Ability to map out and commit to a preferred school site

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide individualized support to students, fostering academic, behavioral, and social growth
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to implement educational plans
• Assist students with daily classroom activities and personal care as required
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment

You’ll earn $20 per hour as part of this dedicated team, with your direct hire pay assessed by the district upon conversion.
