Provide specialized educational services as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to support K-12 students across multiple school districts. This contract position offers a full-time schedule with flexibility for part-time arrangements, extending from the start date through May 26, 2026.
Location: Cypress, TX
Setting: K-12 Itinerant teaching across various districts
Duration: Contract through the end of the school year (CSY)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction and support to students with visual impairments in compliance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to facilitate access to the general curriculum.
- Conduct assessments to identify students needs and monitor their educational progress.
- Provide ongoing training and resources to school staff regarding visually impaired students strategies and accommodations.
- Manage a caseload of students, servicing multiple districts on an itinerant basis.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification for the state of Texas.
- Proven experience delivering K-12 instruction to visually impaired students.
- Strong understanding of instructional methods and assistive technologies suited to visually impaired learners.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple school assignments.
