Make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-12 students as an itinerant educator specializing in services for Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners on Florida’s scenic Southeast coast. As a key support for students and staff across several schools, you’ll foster access, advocacy, and inclusion every day.

Your role will focus on delivering DHH services to students of all ages, spanning kindergarten through high school. Working closely with district teams, you’ll assist with Florida Language Evaluations (FLEs), support Usher syndrome screenings, and help coordinate audiological assessments, ensuring results are accurately uploaded to the PEER system. This dynamic position involves engaging with several campuses, which means a rewarding variety of settings and student needs to address.

Ideal candidates bring:

  • Current and active Florida DOE Certification (required)
  • Experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in K-12 educational settings
  • Ability to provide itinerant services across multiple sites
  • Strong skills collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
  • Familiarity or experience with Florida school systems and procedures
  • Comfort with performing and assisting in screenings and evaluations
  • A passion for supporting student growth, independence, and communication

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing direct instructional services and advocacy for DHH students
  • Collaborating with classroom teachers, service providers, and families
  • Assisting with district-wide screenings and audiological paperwork
  • Traveling between assigned schools to meet diverse student needs
  • Maintaining meticulous service documentation and compliance

This contract position begins August 5th, 2026, and concludes June 1st, 2027, operating a full-time Monday through Friday schedule. On-site presence is essential, with the opportunity to work within a supportive, knowledgeable district team.
