Qualifications & Experience
- Hold an active South Carolina Teaching License
- BOTH Special Education and Early Childhood degree certifications are required
- Multi-Categorical endorsement needed for placement in self-contained K-2 classroom
- Experience working in one or more of the following: Early Childhood Resource, ED Resource, and Multi-Categorized classrooms
- Ability to collaborate with general educators, specialists, and family members to create individualized learning plans
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Comfortable teaching onsite and working across primary and elementary settings
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and effective instruction to students in K-8 with diverse special needs, including self-contained and resource roles
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collect data, track student progress, and adjust strategies as needed
- Foster a nurturing, positive, and structured learning environment
- Communicate regularly with families, support staff, and administration
- Adhere to district, state, and federal guidelines for special education
This position offers a full academic-year contract (July 29, 2026 – May 27, 2027) at 37.5 hours per week, providing stability and the opportunity to build lasting relationships with students and colleagues.
