This contract position follows a part-time, flexible summer schedule, perfect for professionals seeking to broaden their school-based PT experience or those who value a shorter workday. Qualifications & Preferred Background:
- Valid Physical Therapist license in the state
- Previous pediatric or school-based PT experience is highly preferred
- Ability to manage a small, focused caseload (approx. 7 students)
- Comfort with documentation and progress tracking for student IEPs
- Excellent communication skills with students, families, and team members
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct physical therapy services to students in grades K-12 to address gross motor and functional needs
- Collaborate with IEP teams to assess, plan, and implement appropriate interventions
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as needed
- Assist in organizing and packing the therapy room at the completion of the ESY schedule
- Prepare student records and reports following district protocols
Schedule highlights include an initial training/workday on June 25, followed by Monday-Thursday hours through late July, typically 7:45 am – 12:31 pm. Additional hours are available at the end of the assignment to wrap up documentation and prepare the therapy space. Assignment location is a well-regarded elementary school with the possibility to extend into the regular school year supporting early childhood students.
