About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a school district in Gallup, NM. In this role, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide direct therapy services to students, helping them develop effective communication skills essential for academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement speech and language therapy sessions as outlined by the supervising SLP.
- Work with students individually or in small groups to address articulation, language, fluency, and social communication goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student communication needs.
- Assist in the preparation of therapy materials and activities.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences.
- Valid New Mexico SLPA license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience in a school or pediatric setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
