Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution
- Valid state licensure or eligibility as a School Social Worker
- Prior experience working with elementary-aged children preferred
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
- Familiarity with best practices in crisis intervention and counseling in a school setting
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct social-emotional support to 3rd to 5th grade students, addressing issues such as anxiety, behavior, and peer relationships
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to promote positive coping strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to create strategies that foster student well-being and success
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and assist with the development of behavioral intervention plans
- Serve as a liaison connecting families to community resources or mental health services when needed
- Maintain accurate student records and ensure confidentiality in compliance with school policies and regulations
