This position is a short-term assignment, covering for the regularly assigned RN while they are on vacation, with the assignment running from October 1, 2026, through October 10, 2026. The schedule will be finalized closer to the start date, but typical hours are Monday through Friday from approximately 8:00-8:15 AM to 3:30 PM, including bus riding to ensure the student’s safety to and from school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver one-on-one nursing support for a medically fragile student, including G-tube care and monitoring.
- Accompany and supervise the student during bus rides, providing essential medical oversight.
- Collaborate with school staff and parents to promote continuity of care in an educational environment.
- Respond promptly and professionally to any health needs or emergencies during the school day.
- Ensure full compliance with all district policies and requirements for in-person care—this position is not open to VOCO/virtual alternatives.
Qualifications:
- Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) License required.
- Previous experience in a school nursing or similar pediatric RN setting strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to provide specialized care such as G-tube management.
- Comfortable and reliable with in-person school environments and riding the school bus.
