A rewarding contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse skilled in school nursing, eager to make a meaningful impact in a school environment near Plainfield, NJ. The assignment spans from June 1, 2026, to June 26, 2026, offering a chance to support a young student and collaborate with a dedicated educational team. This is an onsite position, Monday through Friday, from 8am to 3pm, working approximately 35 hours per week.
Your Qualifications:
- Active RN license in New Jersey
- Demonstrated experience in pediatric care, especially within schools
- Comfort and proficiency working with students with complex medical needs, including NG-tube care
- Ability to safely lift and transport a non-ambulatory child weighing approximately 24 lbs
- Prior experience supporting students with special needs is highly desirable
- Willingness and readiness for bus transportation of the student to and from school
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing support to a 3-year-old student diagnosed with Infantile Neuroaxonal Dystrophy (INAD)
- Manage NG-tube feedings and associated monitoring (no G-tube care required)
- Assist with daily living activities for a non-ambulatory student, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Facilitate safe lifting and transport both onsite and during bussing
- Observe and communicate with school staff and families regarding the student’s healthcare needs
- Maintain accurate documentation of care and interventions
