Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1 year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding role specializing in school-based occupational therapy, supporting young learners within a dynamic educational environment. This contract opportunity spans the 2026-2027 school year and offers part-time hours: approximately 4 hours per day, 4 days per week. Deliver hands-on therapy to children aged 3-4 as part of an Early Interventionist Team, with engaging onsite work split between northern and southern areas of the district.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active Louisiana Occupational Therapy License
- Previous experience in pediatric or school-based OT preferred
- Expertise in supporting early childhood development, particularly ages 3-4
- Skilled in assessment, goal-setting, and therapy plan development for young children
- Strong communication skills, collaboration within multidisciplinary teams, and ability to engage with families and caregivers
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide occupational therapy evaluations, develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each child’s needs
- Collaborate closely with educators, parents, and the early intervention team to optimize student outcomes
- Maintain clear, timely documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
- Conduct progress monitoring, adjust interventions as necessary, and provide recommendations for classroom accommodations
- Travel (within the designated north/south areas) to support students across multiple sites as needed
