This paraprofessional pool contract provides hands-on experience with students from K-12 who have moderate to high-intensity needs, including those with significant autism and behavioral challenges. Successful candidates step in where needed, providing focused, compassionate assistance in environments where safety and structure are top priorities.
Key Qualifications/Experience:
- At least 1 year of verifiable experience as a paraprofessional in a school special ed setting with severe autism and behavioral needs (PreK-12), clearly shown on your resume.
- Experience working 1:1 and/or in highly structured behavioral classrooms, with a strong track record implementing safety interventions (MDS, ADL, AS3, behaviors, and autism).
- Ability to confidently support students demonstrating aggressive/self-injurious behaviors.
- PA Paraprofessional credentials, or willingness to complete certification within 60 days of assignment start (details provided at onboarding).
- Reside within 35 minutes of the assignment areas; reliable transportation required.
- Fully available during school hours, Mon–Fri, 37.5 hours/week (schedule varies between 6:45 AM–4:01 PM).
- Must attend mandatory full-week orientation prior to starting.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized assistance to students with moderate-severe needs, promoting safety, dignity, and engagement.
- Support students’ educational and behavioral plans set by teachers and specialists.
- Assist with daily living skills, including feeding, toileting, transfers, and mobility.
- Implement safety protocols and document notable behaviors or incidents.
- Remain adaptable to location or caseload changes per school needs.
