Role Description
Bigger Skies Mental Health is seeking an experienced Part-Time Medical Billing Specialist to join our team on-site in Newport, KY.
This person will support the revenue cycle for our growing practice, including Medicare and commercial insurance billing. Responsibilities include submitting and tracking claims, resolving rejections and denials, posting and reconciling payments, following up on outstanding claims, and assisting with patient billing questions.
This position offers significant room for growth. As Bigger Skies expands, we would like the right person to have the opportunity to increase their hours and potentially transition into an Office Manager/Practice Management role, taking on greater responsibility for day-to-day practice operations and administrative leadership.
Because of this growth opportunity, prior leadership experience or an interest in developing into a leadership role is strongly preferred.
Qualifications
* Hands-on Medicare billing experience required
* Experience with medical claim submission, payment posting, denials, and A/R follow-up
* Experience with electronic claims, clearinghouses, EOBs, and ERAs
* Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10
* Behavioral health or psychiatry billing experience strongly preferred
* Experience with EHR/practice management systems
* Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through
* Ability to independently research and resolve billing issues
* Professional communication with patients, payers, clinicians, and staff
* Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements
* Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
* Interest in growing into an Office Manager/Practice Management role strongly encouraged
* Medical billing/coding certification is a plus, but not required

Schedule: Part-time, approximately 20–30 hours
