Job Title: Night Shift Leader

Location: Biggby Coffees Cartersville

Reports To: Restaurant Manager

Department of Labor Classification: Hourly Non-Exempt

Work Schedule: Must be willing to work starting at 5am OR until midnight if necessary (depending on Café hours). Flexible Hours..

Biggby Coffee began with a single store in East Lansing, Michigan, in 1995—and has grown into a community of coffee lovers across the country. Our menu offers a wide variety of espresso-based drinks, teas, smoothies, and more, all made to order with a smile. A leadership position supervising the operation of the store in the absence of the Manager by ensuring the execution of PERC and Position Priorities every minute of every shift that they work.

Supervise the operation of the store in the Manager's absence.

  • Make sure staff members are present and ready to work at the time they are scheduled.
  • Ensure that the 3 Hour Checklist is performed on time
  • Ensure that all opening/closing chores are performed properly, that the store is fully operational five minutes before the posted opening time, and that it remains fully operational until five minutes after close.
  • Perform managerial duties when needed, including filling out the ABC Tracker throughout the day, receiving and storing orders, reconciling the cash drawers, issuing employee reprimands, and any other tasks delegated by the Manager.
  • Ensure that daily marketing operations are executed properly, meeting any goals that have been set for the day (i .e. 10 planned business drops are completed)

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure that PERC is practiced by every staff member every moment of the shift and that Position Priorities are adhered to. Monitor speed of service and the sales process, ensure that drink-making procedures are being followed, and that all customers are being engaged in active conversation at the delivery counter.
  • Maintain a clean and energetic store atmosphere-customers will feel comfortable in a clean environment, and if staff energy is high, and the baristas are having fun, the customers will too-this will guarantee that each customer will leave the store in a better mood.
  • Ensure that all product is fully stocked and available. Ensure that the weekly and monthly maintenance chores are completed each day.
  • Coach and develop staff to improve sales, profitability, and guest satisfaction
  • Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, specialty drinks, teas, smoothies, and food items according to Biggby recipes and brand standards.
  • Take guest orders at the register, drive-thru, or mobile ordering system and process payments accurately.
  • Greet guests with enthusiasm, a smile, and a positive attitude, creating a welcoming environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of the menu, including seasonal items and promotions, and answer guest questions confidently.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards at all times.
  • Restock cups, lids, straws, condiments, syrups, and other supplies as needed.
  • Keep work areas clean and organized, including counters, equipment, and guest seating areas.
  • Operate equipment safely and according to training (espresso machines, blenders, ovens, etc.).
  • Communicate effectively with team members and managers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Uphold speed of service standards while maintaining accuracy and quality.
  • Support team goals by assisting in stocking, organizing, and cleaning tasks as assigned.
  • Provide solutions to guest concerns or complaints in a friendly and professional manner.
