About the Role
Due to sustained growth and increasing operational complexity, the Company is seeking a Staff or Senior Accountant (DOE) to join its accounting and finance team. Reporting directly to the Group Controller, this role will play a critical part in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and project accounting, while supporting the company’s continued expansion.
This is a corporate accounting role that also supports branch accounting activities. The position is fully onsite at the company’s North Dallas headquarters and requires close collaboration with operations and field offices.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting, intercompany accounting, and consolidations in a construction or project-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Core Accounting
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes.
- Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Maintain the chart of accounts and ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.
- Prepare and analyze Percentage of Completion (POC) and Work in Progress (WIP) reports with strong attention to detail.
- Maintain financial integrity across multiple entities and business units.
Operations & Process Improvement
- Partner with operations and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and consistent expense coding.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting systems.
- Support the ongoing implementation and optimization of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central across multiple branch locations.
- Support quarter-end physical inventory counts and related reconciliations.
Compliance
- Assist with annual audits and tax filings by coordinating with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Ensure compliance with state and local regulations, including sales tax reporting.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly financial statements for bank reporting, including tracking ongoing debt covenant compliance.
- Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy and clarity for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the finance team on budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Perform consolidations and intercompany eliminations for group financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Construction or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred.
- CPA designation or CPA exam eligibility strongly preferred.
Salary : $100,000 - $110,000
