Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service while managing check-in and check-out procedures
- Schedule appointments using medical scheduling software, coordinating with clinical staff to optimize daily workflows
- Verify patient insurance coverage, process payments, and handle medical billing and collections accurately
- Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Review documentation for accuracy and completeness, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Answer multi-line phone systems promptly with professional phone etiquette; direct calls appropriately
- Manage medical records filing, scanning, and data entry tasks with precision and attention to detail
- Medical Preauthorizaiions for radiology exams
- Support clinical staff by preparing care plans, reviewing documentation, and handling administrative correspondence
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a medical office environment with strong clerical skills
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
- Knowledge of medical billing processes including CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding, Medicare procedures, and health insurance policies
- Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and typing (10 key) capabilities
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, clinical confidentiality policies, and health information management standards
- Previous clinic or hospital experience is desirable to navigate healthcare workflows efficiently
- Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle phone communication professionally and courteously
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy in documentation review and data entry
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
