What are the responsibilities and job description for the Payroll Assistant - Headquarters position at Big R Holdings?
Big R is looking for a Payroll Assistant to join our Team! This role supports the Payroll Manager in processing payroll for over 1,000 employees, auditing employee timesheets and new hire documents, employee change documents and so much more. The ideal candidate is receptive to feedback, willing and eager to learn, adaptable to change, and once established in the role, able to work independently as a self-starter.
This is not a remote work position; all work is done at Headquarters in Pueblo, CO.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Maintain confidentiality and secure payroll operations by following established protocols
- Confirm completion of status changes for current employees
- Confirm completion of resignation and termination documents
- Process payroll monthly
- Post payroll to general ledger monthly
- Audit I-9's for accuracy
- Manage the final step of the hiring process by auditing timesheets
- Confirm completion of hiring documents for all new hires
- Process and audit timesheets for pay period end
- Provide good customer service to fellow Teammates and Store Managers by answering payroll inquiries and grievances related to payroll
