Job Title: QA/QC Technician I
Compensation: $18.00/hr - $20.00/hr (DOE).
Employment terms: Full Time – Non-exempt
Role & Responsibilities:
- The QA/QC Technician I role is responsible for facilitating all aspects of the company’s analytical testing program, all aspects of the company’s internal QC sampling program, and some aspects of the product batch issuance and release process.
As a role within the QA/QC department, the QA/QC Technician I role is expected to have an exceptionally high attention to detail, be capable of processing large volumes of assigned tasks during their scheduled shift without error, and be capable of picking up the process quickly and be exceptional in their ability to learn on the job.
Primary Duties (including, but not limited to):
Facilitating all aspects of the company’s analytical testing program:
- Facilitate daily coordination meetings with the department Supervisors in BHO, SHO,
- Packaging, and Distribution to ensure that all analytical testing samples are properly taken and ready for pickup at the times needed by the department Supervisors. It is essential that an exceptionally high attention to detail is used for these tasks and 100% error-free work is expected when creating samples in our track and trace systems.
- After the samples are taken, coordinating with the analytical labs to have the samples picked up for analysis within 24 hours of batch completion.
- Monitoring for the completion of all samples sent out, reaching out to the testing labs to inquire about any delays that are observed.
- Reviewing returned COA results to check for pass/fail results, working with the analytical labs to investigate and/or resolve any failures or variances.
- Updating the product batch records with returned COAs and notifying the team of the pass/fail results on ClickUp.
Facilitating all aspects of the company’s internal QC sampling program:
- Overseeing, monitoring, and managing the company’s product sampling program including but not limited to trade samples and R&D samples, ensuring compliance with SOP-QUA-008 and current DCC regulations §15041.2 - Trade Samples and §15049 - Track and Trace Reporting.
- Maintaining all product sampling data collection spreadsheets and forms, updating them as needed to align with new product types or to improve the quality of data being collected on product samples that were created.
- Notifying Sales/Marketing and the broader Operations team if any product batches are found to be low quality.
- Maintaining the library of acknowledgements received from participants in the product sampling program.
Facilitating some aspects of the company’s product batch issuance and release process:
- Completing a daily walkthrough of the production areas within BHO, SHO,Packaging, and Distribution to collect any paperwork generated and scan it for the VA. team to file, collect data from, and review for the team.
- Completing daily photo taking and uploading for the VA team to file and review for the team.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Exercise discretion when handling confidential information.
- Daily cash accounting tasks.
- Monthly MFG inventory audit tasks.
- Engage in continuous monitoring and reviewing of KPIs to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of therole.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Evaluation process: 30, 60, & 90-day evaluations as well as annual reviews following this initial evaluation period.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications for education, training, and prior experience:
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Must be able to pass a background screening for employment within the CA cannabis industry after the company makes a conditional job offer.
Preferred skills & knowledge:
- Passionate and capable of hitting the ground running and learning quickly by observing on the job training.
- Exceptional attention to detail, must deliver 100% error free work in some areas of this role.
- 1 years experience manipulating, analyzing, and translating data o Proficiency with Excel, SQL, Power BI or similar data tools
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to draw insights from data trends and patterns
- Critical thinker and problem solver
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Physical requirements:
- Requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, and use of hands.
