What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional position at Big Lakes Developmental Center, Inc.?

Direct Support Professionals are responsible for providing supports and services to adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in the areas of home, work, social, leisure and daily living activities. Duties include providing/assisting with personal hygiene support, transportation, supervision and training, record keeping and light household cleaning. We provide comprehensive initial and ongoing training and development for our employees so the best quality services are provided to our clients to achieve our mission of promoting independence, productivity, integration and inclusion into the community for the adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities we support.
Specific titles for Direct Support Professionals include, but are not limited to, Life Enrichment Trainer, Work Supervisor, Work Enrichment Trainer and Driver (providing support in Day Services program) as well as Residential Advisor and Residential Advisor III (providing support within a residential setting). Substitute positions in Day and Residential Services. (*Some Residential Advisor positions may require overnight stay and may be eligible for sleep stipend.)
Minimum requirements include high school diploma (or equivalency), three years driving experience, good driving history and able to meet all requirements for position. More detailed description of positions being recruited available at www.biglakes.org/jobs/
