Role Description The Safety Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Pecos, TX. This position supports daily field operations by monitoring work sites for compliance with company and regulatory safety standards. Responsibilities include conducting safety inspections and audits, assisting with job safety analyses, and ensuring that corrective actions are identified and followed through. The Safety Technician will help implement and maintain Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, including hazard identification, incident reporting, and near-miss tracking. The role also involves facilitating safety meetings and toolbox talks, providing basic safety training and orientation, and maintaining accurate safety records and documentation. The Safety Technician will collaborate closely with supervisors, safety specialists, and field teams to promote a strong safety culture on all projects.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Health & Safety, Workplace Safety, and Occupational Health, with the ability to apply safety principles in field environments.
- Knowledge of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) programs, including hazard recognition, incident reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Effective Communication skills for conducting safety meetings, delivering training, and engaging diverse field teams.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for inspections, documentation, and recordkeeping.
- Experience in the energy, construction, or industrial sector is preferred.
- Relevant safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, PEC, or equivalent) are beneficial.
- Ability to work in outdoor and field conditions, travel to job sites as needed, and use basic safety equipment and tools.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or safety-related education is a plus.
